Do I need a reservation?

No. Mikri Avra is walk-in only, like a traditional Greek taverna. Come by and we will find you a table.

What kind of food do you serve?

Mediterranean home cooking — mezedes, fresh Aegean fish, grilled meats, pasta and classic Greek desserts.

Every evening from 7:00pm until 1:00am, from May to October.

How much should I expect to spend?

Typical spend is €20–€50 per person, depending on the dishes ordered and excluding drinks. Use the current in-restaurant menu for item prices.

Is this the same Avra as before?

Yes. Mikri Avra is the family reopening of Avra, which Chef Nikos ran from 1999 to 2021. Same family, same recipes, a new home in Lakka.

For more than twenty years it was the name of a beloved table in Mykonos Town. In 2021 the doors closed — but the breeze has returned. Smaller, warmer, the same hands in the kitchen: this is Mikri Avra, the little Avra, on the lively square of Lakka.

From Kalogera 27 to Lakka

In 1999, Chef Nikos opened Avra on Kalogera street, in the heart of Mykonos Town. For twenty-two years it was a place locals and travellers returned to — for the cooking, and for the welcome.

When the original Avra closed in 2021, it was not the end of the story. Together with his son Stathis, Nikos has brought the table back to life — smaller, more personal — in a quiet corner of Lakka square.

Same family. Same recipes. The same breeze off the sea.
