Avra means breeze.

For more than twenty years it was the name of a beloved table in Mykonos Town. In 2021 the doors closed — but the breeze has returned. Smaller, warmer, the same hands in the kitchen: this is Mikri Avra, the little Avra, on the lively square of Lakka.

Our story

From Kalogera 27 to Lakka

In 1999, Chef Nikos opened Avra on Kalogera street, in the heart of Mykonos Town. For twenty-two years it was a place locals and travellers returned to — for the cooking, and for the welcome.

When the original Avra closed in 2021, it was not the end of the story. Together with his son Stathis, Nikos has brought the table back to life — smaller, more personal — in a quiet corner of Lakka square.

Same family. Same recipes. The same breeze off the sea.
