1999: Avra opens on Kalogera Street
Chef Nikos opened Avra at Kalogera 27 in the heart of Mykonos Town. For twenty-two years, the restaurant welcomed local residents and travellers around the same family table.
2021: the original restaurant closes
The doors of the original Avra closed in 2021. The closure ended that location, not the family's connection to the restaurant or its cooking.
Mikri Avra: the same family in Lakka
Chef Nikos and his son Stathis brought the table back in a smaller setting on Lakka Square. Mikri Avra keeps the same chef, family recipes and welcoming style in a new home.
This continuity is why the restaurant describes itself as the little Avra: smaller and more personal, but part of the same family story.
